Default Edit block in place problem

    Dear all,

When I try to Edit block in place in my DWG file , I get this message. You can check the attachment.

_refedit Errors found in references to other objects:
** Application reference missing: ACAD, to AcDbLinetypeTableRecord.
    *Cancel*

and I am not able to edit in place but I can open block in block editor.
What is the reason for this message.
    Regards,
    Annie

Is this a reoccurring problem? Does it happen with all blocks or just this one?

we used to get an error like that, way back in the day, I think Release 2000i or maybe 2005/2007 (it all blends together). I dont remember now how we fixed it, have you tried recovering or auditing your drawing, sounds like you may have some bad definitions. I generally try to avoid using the refedit command, it seems to cause more problems than it is worth, especially with the 3rd party software we are currently using for our Civil stuff.

I get that when I'm trying to edit an XRef without opening it. My research has me believing that when other users are also referencing the drawing I'm trying to edit, I get the error message.
