I have a large tiff in the background of a drawing that I'm drawing on top of. I'm printing to Adobe PDF. The tiff won't show up. I've also tried using the DWG to PDF printer, with no luck. How can I get the tiff to show up?

Check to see if you have Line Merge on/off.
I assume you already checked to make sure it's not a layer off/non print error.
Did you try it set to ON?
Might, if you edit the pc3 properties and set the PDF to print as raster.
It's referenced in on layer zero, set to print. I keep my viewports on a separate layer that is set to non-print, but switching that to a printing layer doesn't change things.
I'm wondering if I need a more hefty computer.
I use tiff's all of the time. I have had trouble in the past to printing to PDF.
99% of the time, it is a memory problem.
I would recommend the following:
Buy a 3rd party PDF writer for ACAD. The one I use is called , BLUEBEAM PDF WRITER.
(and no, I don't work for Bluebeam)
If you can't do that, try and convert the TIFF to a JPEG. You can download a free program called, "Xnview"
The program works great.
And finally, check to make sure you have enough RAM, and your Virtual Memory settings on your computer are at the max performance.
Hope this helps....
what plot quality settings are you using?
On Plot and Publish tab of Options, what is your setting for OLE printing?
OLE Plot Quality
Sets the default plot quality for OLE objects.
(OLEQUALITY system variable)
Use OLE Application When Plotting OLE Objects
Controls whether the source application of an embedded OLE object loads when plotting.
(OLESTARTUP system variable)
