    Question Layouts

    Sorry, really embarrassing question....

How do you change the dashed line border on a layout?

I've searched the web high and low but everyone seems concerned with it printing (or not) rather than changing it

    Thanks

The dashed line border in the layout is just there for reference, it is not an entitiy that will plot or you can change it's appearance. It simply represents the "printable area" margin for the plotter and paper size assigned to that layout.

I realise that, it's just that some layouts seem to have different sized borders and I was wondering how the borders are altered.

    They actually answered your question.
"represents the "printable area" margin for the plotter and paper size assigned to that layout"

To change the dashed lines you must change the paper size set in the plot dialog or pagesetup.

Manage your page setups. Make one extents or something > Set Current.

The black or white rectangle represents the paper. The distance from the dashed line to the edge of the paper is the margin.

To change the margin, you can choose plot > select your printer from the dropdown menu > press properties button > select "Modify standard paper size [printable area]" > choose your paper size, click "modify" button.
