Default Command alias repeat on the command line

This is only happening on one of our drafter's computers. He is a command alias user and when he hits the spacebar after typing in his 1 or 2 letter alias, it will launch that command and then display that same letter in the command prompt. For example, for Erase; he types "E" then the Spacebar, it will launch the Erase command, but then will automatically place an "E" in the command prompt within the Erase command. It happens quite frequently, but most importantly, not all the time, which sort of tells me it's a glitch. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a great advocate of repair/reinstall but this sounds like a good case for trying.

I assume you are using 2012, I never experienced this issue in older versions, but now I find it happening quite often, I just deal with it.

I've been using 2012 for the past few weeks and have not seen this behaviour although I use keyboard aliases for almost everything.
Maybe the difference is that I am using the "classic" workspace - no ribbon.

Yeah, I thought about trying that, but our drafters are still using AC 2006 and trying to repair/reinstall an old version is a real pain. Hopefully if things go the direction I'm pushing, we'll be moving up to 2012 by the end of the year. It's a corporate problem. If I don't find an answer, he said he can deal with it until we move up to new hardware and software.

type slower? You dont have some kind of program running that is causing something to be redisplayed at the command line, do you? Is it the entire thing the user keys in, or just the last letter?

Or does this user have a lisp routine running with "cmdecho" on?
Are the alias' he's using just PGP funtions or are they using lisp for some type of customization?

    Just a thought

If they have DYN on try with it off to see if that is the problem.

Try setting the Repeat Delay to the longest in the Keyboard Properties (Windows Control Panel).
