My office just upgraded from ACA 2010 to ACA 2012 and are experiencing a little trouble when it comes to ordinate dimensions.
We are trying to dimension a section while in paper space and can't seem to get the ucs origin to associate to the ordinate dimensions. The section consists of both the line work automatically generated by AutoCAD as well as additional lines that we have drawn in on top of the section.
We have been using the following commands:
UCS > M > selecting a point on the 2D section (in paperspace)
DIMORDINATE > selecting various points on the section line work
If the section consists of only the automatically generated line work, the dimensions work fine with the zero dimension and the dimension origin at the point specified by moving the UCS
If the section contains both the section line work and the additional line work the ordinate dimensions and the origin points for the dimensions are shifted into space so we end up with arbitrary dimensions like 73' 5-3/16" instead of zero, etc.
If the section line work and our additional line work is merged (select section, right click, edit line work, merge) then the dimensions will work. This however is not a real solution as the coloring of the line work is changed to monochrome and we need to be able to use various colors for different lines.
Is there some new feature in either the ordinate dimensions, UCS, or sections that is causing this issue?
