Default Autocad 2012....Lost my ribbon completely

'The ribbon doesn't have any tabs or panels currently loaded'.

I was trying to reload (menuload) some blocks from a vendor, when for whatever reason, I lost my entire ribbon, maybe I accidently repathed it or something, by hitting menu rather then menuload.
But now I'm going through it, I have some standard icons reloaded, but they're not part of the ribbon itself. I'm going to have to switch to Autodesk Mechanical to wrap things up. This issue is occuring with Autodesk Architectural 2012.

You MENULOAD CUI(x) files, not blocks.

That aside, try restoring your workspace.

If that doesn't work, try the RIBBON command.

If THAT doesn't work, check to make sure your CUI(x) is loaded and not something else by mistake.

    Good luck!

In addition, try switching workspaces and then back again. Sometimes a workspace fails to completely load or switch. If your cui got corrupted it can loose the ribbon. If all the other suggestions fail, you can copy the default cui from C:\Program Files\AutoCAD MEP 2010\UserDataCache\Support dir to your profile: C:\Documents and Settings\<name>\Application Data\Autodesk\MEP 2010\enu\Support

Ed Jobe's recommendation is really helpful for dealing with corrupt CUIs. As this question deals specifically with AutoCAD 2012, I want to point out that the install path for these files has changed a bit from the 2010 products.

Autodesk products are now one sub-folder deeper, stored within the Autodesk folder.

    C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2012\UserDataCache\Support

    or

    C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2012 - English\UserDataCache\Support

Depending on whether you are installing from an AutoCAD installer or a Suite.

Also, Windows Vista or Windows 7 no longer put user data in the Application Data folder. You'll find it somewhere similar to:

    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2012 - English\R18.2\enu\Support

FWIW - I try to use environment variables where possible :

    %AppData%\Autodesk\ ...blah, blah, blah.

    Dear All,

I'm working within IT and one of our endusers had experienced that she could be working on a drawing and suddently She was prompted that a file was missing under

    C:\%APPDATA%\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013\R19\enu\Support\

She ended up in a clear screen mode. And some restoration was done. It has happend a lot (meaning a lot) of times, and we are not able to see, why this is happening. I have been searching the net and can see that a lot of users are seeing this, but can't find the root couse?

We are based on a Windows 7 SP1 x64 environement with no tampering of the OS. We are not using Roaming profile etc.

Could somebody please come up with a plausible solution / root cause for this issue, as we are really in a struggle.

    Thanks in advance

    LL
