Default Duct Connectors - drag to connect to other connectors

I'm setting up families for pneumatic tube systems. At one point I was able to drag a mechanical equipment component by the connector and it would attach to another duct connector making the two pieces connected. I'm not able to do it with new families I'm trying to create and can't figure out what I'm missing.
Any ideas on what it could be?
    Thanks,
    Billy

I wouldn't expect dragging a mechanical equipment component would connect it to a duct, but the reverse should work as long as the two elements are lined up.

They are both pieces of equipment. Sometimes the connectors will have duct coming off of them and other times they will have equipment.

I suspect Jason is on the right track here. Check to see if the connectors are at the same elevation. If they are they should generally connect (assuming that they are the same size / shape and in a compatible direction).

We made a decision that in general equipment wouldn't change its elevation to connect to things. Equipment should keep itself at the elevation that you placed it at. If an elevation is change is needed to connect the equipment make that change first and then try connecting.

The other thing that could be coming into play is if the connector sizes don't match and the connector sizes are based on type parameters rather than instance parameters then they won't update to match. We never change the size of a type parameter, but freely change the size of an instance parameter.
