As Revit MEP users, what do you do for your architectural backgrounds? Do you link in the architectural model and use object styles and view templates to manipulate the backgrounds, or do you link your view to a specific view within the architectural model? I am trying to evaluate the pros and cons to each. Here is what I have so far:
Using object styles and view templates:
Pros:
Quick setup
Easy to standardize
Cons:
Don't see detail lines added to backgrounds (happens all too often)
May need to reproduce plan regions for odd view ranges.
Linked or Inserted Cad files must be added to all views needing to show elements (Furniture, fire ratings, etc)
Linking to View in Arch. Model:
Pros:
Backgrounds look as intended
View ranges are not effected
One view to adjust to make changes to all views looking at it (you can fix problems for all views in one spot)
One View for Cad Files to be added to.
Cons:
Complicated setup (currently have 28 linked models for one project). Very tedious to make changes to.
Any other Pros or Cons I've not mentioned?
Thanks,
