Default I wish Revit could "Reference Other View" from linked files

Occasionally we do multiple buildings on a campus. We split the project such that each building has its own Revit file and the files are linked into one another. There are always many details that are common between the buildings. If we have detailed something in Building "A" and want to use that detail in Building "B" we currently have to create fake sheets with empty detail views in the Building "B" file to match the Building "A" views and "Reference other view" to those fake views. This is an organizational nightmare and is completely "unintelligent." Being able to "Reference Other View" from a linked file would simplify this process immensely. Revit already allows us to schedule linked sheets in a drawing list, would this be that much harder?

I too am struggling with this. We just upgraded to Revit Arch 2012 and I still don't see any option to do this. The only other option I see is to create the view in one project and then "insert from file" to the other two files. Still a huge pain and if you change one, you have to change all 3.
