    Default Circles Masking

I've noticed that 2D circles mask objects below them and in some cases objects (MEP objects) above them. Is there a way to control the transparency of the area inside of a circle?

For example our architectural backgrounds will have circles for the floor drains, these will sometimes mask or appear to be over the piping 15' above it.

I've noticed that this occurs when shade plot hidden is selected for the viewport, is there a way to keep this turned on and have the circles not mask?

    What version of acad?
It used to be that, in Hidden mode, circles became discs so you needed to, for example, break each circle into two arcs.
I've just tested in 2010 and it no longer does that.

We're using 2011 and 2012. Circles still mask when shade plot is enabled for the view port.

    Doh! I only tested on-screen.

    Then you need two semicircles.
