In the autocad Mtext editor, What does the "@" symbol mean in the font list?
Interesting question, and I have no idea.
They only show up that way in Acad -- not in Word or in control Panel|Fonts, and there always seems to be a non@ version listed as well.
e.g. I see an @Meiryo font listed, and down the list is Meiryo
Is there any reason that certain fonts are selected with the "@" infront of it, while the ones I consistantly use in my drawings, do not have "@" and are way down the list? Is there a way I can get rid of the "@" in front of the font names that I do not use?
I've never seen the "@" symbol in the Mtext Editor font list. Could it have to do with how the fonts were installed in windows? Neither @Meiryo or Meiryo are standard in Windows XP anyway.
I now have a new computer and am now working in Windows 7. The "@" symbol was there in Win XP also. If autocad has this as a feature to prefer used fonts, I wish it would show on top fonts that I use.
Hi Tom,
I'm seeing this @ character in both the MTEXT editor font pulldown, and in the STYLE dialog. but only in Acad products, never in any other application.
damifino where the Meiryo ttf font came from... maybe office 2010? it's got a Microsoft copyright and shows up in control panel Fonts with the "TT" icon for a TrueType Font
