Default Can't Place Instance Of... message

We're seeing this message a lot with every updated model from the architect. What's causing this? Is this because they're deleting walls instead of moving them? We can't continue opening our model unless we delete the erroneous instances which in this case, totals 83 devices. Needless to say, it's giving our guys a lot of grief having to track down where the devices were deleted and then have to add them again.

    Thanks!
    Matt

How are your (electrical) elements hosted to the architectural elements? I assume the architectural model is linked into your model, you are not working within the same model.

I can see this being a big issue, however I thought as long as wall/ceiling/etc hosting was avoided this wouldnt happen.

I don't think this is the case. Regardless of what the element is revit sees the elements unique guid #. If that link is broken than it's rehosting time. Nothing like having to do something all over again because of another firm carelessness.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been meaning to reply back but every time I remember, something gets in the way.
