Celing Grids Export DWG Revit Arch 2012

I searched the forum, this question has been asked, but not answered. As usual though, I apologize if it is a double post.

Can you export the ACT grid lines, in 3d, to DWG? Is there a setting I am missing? Because I can not get them to show up in the 3D View which I want to export. The ACT is being shown as a simple geometric shape at the correct elevation and material callout.

likewise, we want the same results from the revit exports, but have not found a work-around. any help will be greatly appreciated

No you can't, they are just a surface pattern so it doesn't get exported to 3d. If you need the grid in 3d you have to create a curtain system(sloped glazing). I do this often for grid type details. You can make a mullion that is the shape of your T grid and then set the system to have "empty panel" for the panel so you don't overwrite you ceiling fixtures.
