Can you post a snpashot of the drawing you wantingto collect data from?
Think we can find a way to associate the other info without using Edata

geez, never thought the drawing would be that complicated. but still doable
Heres the plan we will use Tables, that way you can just export it to excell. you will be requried to input
the first 4 rows and row 6
still tryign to figure how to automatically genereate the other data, but i'm working on it.

    be patient

    Question for you:
Are the vertical bars and the link bars on the same layer?
    Are these Lines or Polylines?
    Units are Decimal/milimeters?
What determines the Shape Cdoe I notice that 1 number is like 99218 and some are jsut two digit integer?

Here's what i'm planning, input data's into a dialog box/ select the objects/sort the list according to length or size (see attached)

One more thing, it would helped a lot if you can post a drawing file.

I forgot to mention those things.
Vertical bars are always vetrical. Links are rectangular shaped bars and they are always horizontal. They have width height and the extracted bar ends (~100 mm).
    All bars are in milimeters.
Shape code is a label for standardized shape of the bar. If a bar is straight it's shape code 20, if it's L-shaped it's 37, if it's a rectangular link, it's a 61, etc.

I attached the drawing file. There you will see that every bar label has it's minimized shape (pink line) and the dimensions of the shape. Can we somehow make this minimized bar automatically made?

The dialog box idea looks great, i cant wait to try it.

Can you tell me in what program language you make this? I'm really interested to learn to make these helpful programs. Know some helpful books or tutorials for it?
