The OmniClass™ & MasterFormat™ are the most widely used classifications for building products. The files contained on this thread are the full adaptation of these classifications for Parametric (Revit) purposes. Feel free to send me any known issues or mistakes you may find.

As a member of the NBIMS OmniClass Properties and Materials Workgroup, please let me know if anyone has questions or concerns I could bring back to the committee for discussion and/or resolution.

I think another issue is Countrification.

A truly useful standard coding system and parametrisation for keynoting is only useful if linked to a specification I guess.

There might be difference in countries adopting different system for specification purposes. Like NBS in UK a bit different from CSI.

What do you think? Or Should Keynoting be independent from spec?

I understand the power ofcollaborative effort. Data lost in transition is quote frustrating. What we could really us is a parameter re-mapped so when their data is brought over or imported via family it can be mapped to a local parameter.

I don't mean to sound nasty or mean, but this sounds a lot like someone trying to create a buzz on a webboard. Do you have a dedicated site or blog to this somewhere? Are you affiliated with smart building alliance? Etc.

What data do you have besides the keynotes and omniclass and where can we access it?

    I am quite interested.

Again I appreciate the effort... Let's see if we can push it to its own site somewhere.

Are you interested in donating your time by using and commenting on the files? What do you think about adding another Level to the Keynote file? The attachment below shows the Keynote file in action. Notice the use of dimension in order to shown material thickness, etc.

Dimensions are not the answer. It must be the type mark in conjunction with the keynote.
I will never dimension a metric M6 screw to say it's size.
That´s a big issue that the standard keynote tag does not answer.
An populating more levels is not the solution.

A lot of buzz and ready to move it! Just purchased bimdata.org. Any suggestions on which open source web design software to use. I don't mind paying the hosting bills. Level 5 Keynote samples/ suggestions coming soon.
