    Default Annotative Grid Bubbles?

    Hi,
Late bloomer here, just starting to look at things annotative (dimensions, texts), and was wondering if grid bubbles can be annotative as well. I've been using layers for this, as I have with dims & texts, and decided to come into the 21st C at last. Thanks.

aca handles the insertion scale of grid bubbles. Since they are blocks, they can't really be annotative like text or mtext.

Sure can. Grid bubbles are Multi-View Blocks in ACA. If you make the AutoCAD block you assing as the view block to the Multi-View Block for your grid bubble annotative, then the Multi-View Block will be annotative as well.

The default grid bubble Multi-View Block is called StandardGridBubble. It gets generated on the fly if it is not present in your drawing, but you can customize the default to match your firm's standards by creating a Multi-View Block Definition of that name and putting it in your template file(s).

My question was originally posted to the vanilla AutoCAD forum because I was hopeful that it was possible there. I knew it was possible here & that other BIM program. However, thanks for elaborating on this here, David.

In vanilla AutoCAD, the bubble would be blocks and you could make the block annotative. Now if you are using them thar newfangled dynamic blocks, then you would need to get an answer from someone who knows how to use them. Dynamic blocks generally do not play nicely with ACA content, so I have never taken the time to attempt to master them.

    David,
Interesting what you said about dynamic blocks not playing nicely with ACA, cause I was going to use some of mine in plan view, like parking spaces, & other repetitive 2d objects. I'll still give it a go & see what happens. Thanks.

You can use Dynamic Blocks in an ACA file, and, so far as I know, they will work just fine. They will not interact with the Display System, however (just like regular AutoCAD blocks or other regular AutoCAD objects do not).

Where they will not work is as a view block in a Multi-View Block definition (they may "work", but they will not be dynamic), or as a custom display block in an ACA style.

    David,
Thanks for the feedback, there are obviously the subtleties of the program I have yet to discover, but at least it'll prepare me for what to expect.
