Spec Driven Systems
Summary: Improve Revit's data integrity with specs, catalogs and an administration layer.
Description: I would like to see Revit become more spec & catalog driven and an administration layer added. The software is too open for large EPCM projects. Anyone with who can access the model can access (and change) anything. There is no way to lock out completed model objects, restrict families and systems from unauthorized edits. This level of data security is paramount to large projects. One way to provide this control would be if a hierarchy could be created in Revit's database to organize the model and enforce permissions. This way the design could be frozen once approved.
