Default Select items(materials) by each floor instead of linking(attaching) every single items to timeliner?

My question: How do we select(attach) items(materials) by each floor instead of linking(Attaching) every single items to time liner?

I have a 4 stories building which has Structure and MEP together.
I am going to make a construction process video with my Navisworks.
After importing my Revit files(combined files- MEP and Arch.), I try to select items by floor.
e.g. when I try to select all diffusers on the 1st floor, I couldn't select the diffusers on the 1st floor. I'm only able to choose either all of the diffusers for entire building or one item at a time. I wish I could choose all diffusers on the 1st floor only at a time, and attach it to the 1st floor air terminal schedule. And then go to 2nd floor to attach the diffusers on the 2nd floor to the lime liner.

Is there any way that I could choose/attach the same category items by each floor(level)?? If not, it will take forever.......

    Thanks in advance.

Check out using Filters and Search Sets. With the Revit models, most objects will either get associated directly to a level designation or a 'reference level' designation. The problem arises with Revit in that some things will get assigned to "No Level" which then could cause your Filter to miss them.

    Thanks. It was helpful.

I also figured when I exported as a gbXML file from Revit, I was able to import into Navisworks. However, I couldn't see the materials by levels.

When I exported a file as nwd format from Revit, I was able to see the iteams in each level.(In order me to have nwd files, I had to install plug-in which doesn't dome with Revit Architecture/MEP2012).

    Thanks again.

    Best,

My Reviteers all export .nwc files for use in my NavisWorks Models.
Give a man AutoCad, and he'll draw you a floor plan.
Give a man Revit and he'll build you a house.
Give Cadmama a couple of drinks and she'll have everyone singing Rockytop!
