Default define document view mising blocks

I'm using document view to display photographs. I have a block with object data attached to it. The layer the block is on controled thru display manager for different maps. The block is in the drawing about 20 times with different photos. Works great but at times the blocks disappear. I can find then thru quick select and erase them. I can even explode them and the geomety appears but the only way to get them back is purge and insert them from another dwg and keep my fingers crossed. Any ideas I'mstumped or do you know another way of having photos displayed upon demand in a dwg

    Welcome to AUGI.

With a question like this, its probably best to attach a sample file. When you reply, use the Go Advanced button to access more post options.

You can also use the hyperlink command to link/view the images. I suppect that the display manger is the issue, try to refresh/redraw (update) the maps from a right click in the display manager.

I will try to get it to happen and send you a copy. I'm making an interior GIS so to speak. What I have is thru display manager I have create thru Connect to Data... a New Map one for each floor. I have a master layout with 5 sub groups of My Sql connections for different info. HVAC, Plumbing etc. I copy the Map data to a New Map and edit the queries by changing floor in the connections queries. I read about using document view for displaying photo. Thru display manager I create a layer theme thru Data... Add Drawing data ..Drawing Layer. On that layer I have block with Object data and a field that document view gets the file name from. Works great just isn't stable. Even created a desktop short cut for the boss to view the photos. I want the blocks for floor one to appear only in Floor one map and floor two to do the same. It works but they just disappear at the worst time like in meetings etc. Is there a better way to have them appear per the First Floor Map then disappear one the SEcond floor etc.

I have tried refresh thru display manager. regen all etc. I tried inserting point then thru display manager add drawing data selecting the layer and then add a style and select Symbol from the available options. Then I had to add the Object data to the block worked great but when you reopen the dwg the block is regenerated and has not Object data attached...I've sold the boss on the photo's we just need a stable process

Thanks for getting back to me I didn't do a good job of explaining myself.
I've got MySQL coverages using FDO/data connection.
I also have thru display manager/ Data Button..... Add Drawing Data... Drawing Layer..selected the layer that has blocks with Object data attached to them.

One of the fields in the Object Data table hold the name of the photo. I call up that field in Document view. As per your article I beleive .. Works great.

I am not stylizing the layer just using display manger to turn off the blocks/layer when I go to another map. And use the same process with anothernd layer and other blocks for each floor.

I've attached a copy of the file the blocks are in there but not displaying. They did at one time. If you do a quick select for blocks .... Name there is only that block WIll Camera is the name I believe it shows 11 of them

It's has been a pain and not really into generating the amount of links requested by boss if they keep disappearing
