    Default mass from imported geometry

    Easy questions hopefully

got a 3D surface from a sat file
imported it into a mass family and want to convert it to a FLOOR BY FACE.
Once imported the family into the project it doesn't allow me to select it as a floor.
It works if I use the ROOF BY FACE.

Is there a way to make it work with FLOOR?

Ok It seems you need to define mass floors once mass is imported - but in this manner you can only have flat floors and not sloped ones...like a ramp for instance!
What is the utility of the FLOOR BY FACE tool in that case? I could just use the normal floor in all cases...

Floor by face will only create floors from 'floor area faces', the slices through a mass object that correspond to level datums in your project. They can/will only be level.
If you need to create a warped or sloped floor you'll need to use a roof or place the floor manually with slope arrows.

yeah just found out. I honestly believe it s a bit silly. I mean conceptualy it doesnt make any difference to me...but I dont understand why Autodesk dont improve just these simple things. Allowing to floors to behave like roofs and walls when selecting masses it wont be a big deal I guess!

    thanks anyway.
