    Default Eccentric Ductwork

    Hi guys,

Just a quick question to try and understand the method of eccentric duct transitions.
I have attached an .rvt file showing two different duct transition scenarios, the top one seems to connect well when I drag the round duct towards the rectangular duct (eccecntric transition)

But the rectangular duct scenario below does not appear to behave in the same manner? Is there a reason for this? And how can it be achieved?

I have looked at the justify option in 2012 but cannot seem to get this to work in my project?

    Thanks for your help.

I've seen different results depending one which duct you drag. Try dragging the left duct into the right duct, and/ or the right duct into the left duct. Does that affect your results?

Also try dragging from plan view vs. section view.

The rectangular duct certainly should act in the same way as you are seeing with circular/rect, and has always seemed to work fine that way for me. I would suggest that perhaps your fitting is a bit 'broken'. Try the OOTB transition fitting - I suspect that will work.
