    Default flipping out

this DB almost works perfectly, except that flipping it causes some minor strange behavior. This mimics a multileader (because I want it too (so I can scale it with VB)).
Zoom into the arrow head, Flip it & see what happens. Then flip it again. & then a few more times. Same result will occur if you move the tail before flipping it, but it wont be as obvious.

Anyone know what's up with this?

i have no idea why it's doing that. have you tried to replacing the "Position1" point grip with an actual Polar stretch parameter? may have better results...

Glad it was not just me.
    Constraints conflicting perhaps?

The problem disappears when I delete the angle constraints. Of course they are required to make the arrowhead "rotate" with the leader.

I had initially tried this using chained rotations, but that didn't work out too well, but not horribly. This one works better than that one, but it would be nice if didn't get funked up on the FLIP.

Try using this in 2010; it gets really goofy.

I guess there is no way to tell autocad that "I want this object constrained to that object", as opposed to "constrain these 2 objects to each other". I'm new to all of this, so maybe I'm missing something. It is my understanding that autocad resolves the constraints in whichever way it sees fit.

I knew I had seen this before.
Polar Parameter and Actions are the solution.

when someone joins the Dynamic Block club really affects the assembly of them, especially if someone has discovered parametric constraints first.

That's really cool. I've been working on something similar all evening. Adding a single horizontal Flip action to your block makes it work perfectly thru 360 degrees, which solves a problem I had where flipping was reversing text objects. While this might not be the most efficient solution... it works until something better comes along!
