    Default Central file problems

Hi, I have a problem and I am not sure whether it is just my computer or my copy of Revit.

Basically my problem is as follows:

After saving to central and relinquishing at the end of the day, I close my Revit and log my computer off. The next day i will open the same file back up (as a local file) and all model details i.e duct work, pipework mechanical equipment ect all vanishes. It is not even visible in 3D views.
What I keep having to do is, detach from central and re-save as a new central file and all is fixed (until the next day).

    Anyone come across this before?

    Thanks

I've had this happen a few times and it's startling when it does.

After you open your local file, go the worksets dialogue box and make sure your worksets are "open" (there's a column, make sure the spaces say "yes"). Sometimes when a project loads some or all worksets don't open, I'm not sure why this happens.

I think DaveDH hit the nail on the head.

It's happened to me more than once, and because of that I have started configuring my models to prompt me for which worksets to load every time I open the file. You can specify this option only when saving a project as a central file. Choosing "Specify" under Open Workset Default will allow you to do this. See attached image.

At first it seemed like a pain, but I soon realized that this extra dialog box could actually speed up load times on my larger models by excluding certain worksets.

Every linked model in our projects gets its own workset. Many times the linked models are of adjacent buildings and having them load on a day-to-day basis isn't always necessary. Choosing not to load adjacent buildings (or other worksets) makes a noticeable difference on larger projects. I can always go to the worksets dialog and open worksets as needed.
