Default Grip location for instance parameters

Is there any way to control the location of the grips that Revit creates to control instance parameters?
It seems they always appear in the middle of whatever the family parallel to the plane beign controlled.

    No.

What you might consider doing is setting the Reference Planes to Not a Reference. This will remove the drag handles but still allow for instance control via the properties dialog. This keeps you from having odd numbers in the elements parameters.

Thanks Greg. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something.
This is for a detail component that's more graphic in nature so precision, or oddball numbers, isn't that important. The user wants to be able to place the element adjust drag grips to stretch the filled region to suit.
I'll just set one leg longer than the other so on initial placement at least the grips will be separated.

Dimitri, you can do as you wish if you use reference lines instead of reference planes (the location of the grips is half way along the reference line).

ohhh nice, I need to do that to our U-shaped counter top family, because it's always a pain figuring out which parameter is for which leg of the counter top.
