    Default Adding System Classifications

    Hi,
We have created a number of Pipe Systems to suit our requirement within the project, which is great.
    But...
When we load in families with Pipe connectors we can only choose from a few standard System Classifications when editing the familiy and selecting the pipe connectors (list is attached)

If we say have a pipe system in my project called ''GAS 02'' can i create a pipe connector classifcation to match within the family?

cant see anywhere to edit the standard ones?

    Thanks

System classifications are hard-coded into the software. You can't add or delete them.

What you are looking for is a piping system. You are trying to make a "GAS 02" system.

To do that, right-click on the piping system that you want to use as the basis (which is probably "Other") and select "duplicate." You will be able to name it whatever you want and use it in the project. When you look at the system's type properties, you'll notice that system classification is grayed out. It inherits whichever classification is used as the base.

Use this procedure for all of your custom systems. If you are modeling chilled water, use the "hydronic supply/return." If you are modeling hot water recirc, use "domestic hot water." If you are modeling something off-the-wall like medical gas, use "other"

Right-click. duplicate. rename and change properties. HTH!

To revive this old thread, is there a way to delete the basic classifications? I get "The last system type for each system classification cannot be deleted." We are civil engineers and only ever need to model underground drainage (upto 3 system types).
