Default First BIM project load bearing masonry

Just got our first Bim project with a Architect and it is load bearing masonry with block and beam floors.

so i tried to input the rvt model into a new structural file and no walls or floors where showing, the architect has not shown any foundations, do i need to change the architects walls to structural?

    Couple of questions

Am i better altering the Architects model on a load bearing masonry project, i would of thought that i should have a stand alone model, with the foundations, roof trusses and block and beams showing.

how far do you model on a BIM project ,
do you show all the block and beams so you can a proper take off

what is the best way for lintels and padstones .

    thanks

You won't be able to see the architects walls unless their usage is set to structural or your view discipline is set to architectural or coordination.
I would suggest that you get together with your architect and decide who is doing what with regards to the masonry walls. Many of the questions you have asked should be decided by the team if everyone is using Revit and there is no one solution that fits all needs. It will depend on what your contract scope if, who is going to be using the model and what the model will be used for (working drawings only, analysis, quantity take-off etc)
