Why do DWG files not show in recent file list?

I use the menubar in ACAD LT 2012. I find it a nuisance that all my DST files are listed, even though some may have not been accessed for years, while my most recent drawing does not show!
I know if I click on "BIg Red A", the drawing is listed, but still all the DST files come first. I'm not a fan of big red, as it has a bit of a lag to react to being clicked.

Is there a setting I can activate to hide the DST list? I know I can access them from the SSM pallete, or by setting up the drawing-SSM link.

Any help would be appreciated.
