    Lightbulb Working wit CAD files

I have a CAD files with different information (lets call them features) on separate layers.
what I am currently doing is inserting the CAD file into a sketch, and selecting which layers to import. This works great, because I start to model based on that information on that one layer (layer 1). Now I need the information on layer 2, so I make a new sketch and Import the CAD file again and select layer 2 only. The information from layer 2 come in, however they do not coincide like they do in the original CAD file.

I wonder if someone can help me understand what I could be doing wrong, or rather what I wrong with my workflow.

How about turning the geometry into an AutoCAD block and then inserting it as a block in Inventor? This would allow you to constrain the geometry to the origion without having to constrain every arc arc and line.
