Default Solid Hatch Problem when Plotting

Hi all, well the newest issue i'm having is with plotting a solid fill hatch. I'm using a light gray solid hatch and in one location it plots with all little squares and the other hatch plots solid but it's black. On my partners machine the plots are gray and solid. Does anyone know of a system variable i may need to change or something? We are both using the same ctb. files and yet i'm getting a completely different result.

All replies are very much appreciated,

    Jake

Are you two using the same plotter? Are you plotting to PDF or to paper? Are both of your viewstyles set the same? (_shademode)

We are using the same plotter and plotting to paper, when doing print preview it shows the little squares and when plotted the little squares plot where it should be a gray solid fill and the one solid fill that does plot turns out black. I tried to check shademode but wound up with a whole lot of options none of which seemed to address the issue.

    Anyone??

can you post a sample that shows the two troublesome hatches?

We are using a network printer it's a HP and printing over ethernet via server.
Attached is the pdf of the drawing you can see in the lower left there is a black box. Should be gray and then the site in the middle with all the squares should be plotting as a solid gray fill.

    Thanks guys/gals!

Sorry the drawing is a construction document that's many pages long I will parse out the layout of interest.

Ok here is the drawing, the gray hatch area shows up on my computer with the squares. On the other computer it's fine same with the color.

    Thanks

looks solid grey on my machine, until I select the hatch, then the hatch looks like a bunch of squares, then when I deselect, it goes back to normal.

Assuming you mean the three modelspace areas (the layout swatch is colour 254, not 9),
    I don't see that effect.

Looks to me like you've inadvertently used two different colors for the hatches. One is bylayer with color=8. The other is set to color=254. This might have something to do with the differences. When I plotted to a dwf with a b&w ctb I got all black on one (the bldg) and grey in the legend.
