I believe that you want to say like the notation you give in 2d plan that you want to see in 3d model then I would say, probably it is not possible.
But you can add text and elevation in 3D view. Also you can use model text from the home tab.
The way to do this is to make a rendering, then put text in the rendering.

To answer the question. Yes you can. You don't need to do any renderings. You can if you wanta I guess? Seems like an unnecessary step to me. I'd strongly suggest that you lock that 3d view before you start marking it up.
The other options that I've used in older versions of revit was to do my txt on the titleblock view vs the 3d view. Aka... on top of it.
Hi, thank you for your replys, scowsert how do i lock the 3d model and then do i just add text as on a 2d drawing?.
Thanks Again

I'm assuming Revit 2012. For text you can just use well... text from the annotation tab. I wouldn't use model text for this. You don't want it in the model as an element. Just annotation.
If its Revit 2011 or earlier you don't have the ability to lock it. I'd suggest you do the text over the view on the sheet. Just be aware that if someone rotates that view the text wont follow.
For revit 2012 its similar to this in Revit Structure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtlE2DVmVcg
Have fun!
Edit:Wait do you actually want the text in the model? Similar to STOP on the road (its really there!)? Or the building name on the side of the building? If so then wow I lead you down the wrong path. If you want it in the model then yeah... set your reference place to the surface that you want it on and put in Model Text.
Have you tried Model Text..?
You can find this on the Structural Tab.
You should be able to place Model text in any plan, then view in 3d view.
You can adjust the depth of the model text if it is too high, to make easy to read.
I have used Model Text and Model lines to copy over grid lines, to help client view
column grids on 3D model.
