I am not aware of anything in ACA 2012 that would cause different behavior than what would occur in ACA 2010. Both use the AutoCAD 2010 file format. ACA 2010 also uses the Aec8_Room_Tag Multi-View Block (MVB) for tagging Spaces.

Since content may not have been installed in the default location, as it was on my current computer, the best way to find where the source file for your tag is will be to right click the Tool palette tool you are using and choose Properties from the contextual menu. In the tool's properties, under the Basic category and Tag subcategory, you will find a Tag location property, which should give you the path and file name of the source file that holds the MVB definition that is imported when one does not already exist in the target file.
