    Default trueType font resolution

Hi all, I was wondering if there is a way to improve the resolution I obtain when I explode certain true type fonts in my .dxf drawing.

Someone showed me how to exploded them with the express/text/explode text command, but when I do, they come back with a lot of large line segments that look pretty bad. i was then shown how to covert them to regions, and union them to join all the segments, but this doesn't help the resolution. Does anyone have a suggestioin on how to make them more curvy?

    Thanks,

    Pat

you could try to perform a WMFOUT and WMFIN, zoom in pretty close though beforehand.

    also, see http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCA...D/td-p/3067564

However, results may not be up to what you need, and may require substantial cleanup. it will be a start though.

Setup a DXB File printer. Print the text to a dxb file. Make sure to set TEXTFILL to 0 so that you'll only have the outlines. Then import back by DXBIN command. You'll have a segmented, but finer outline, almost no cleanups necessary.

If you are not satisfied with this, the best way I know is to do the text in Illustrator, then generate the outlines there and export to AutoCAD. You'll have a nice and smooth splines, not segmented lines.

Thanks all for the help. I had the most success withthe DXB file printing. This smoothed the text out quite a bit. I don't have Illustrator (I am guessing this is Adobe Illustrator) so I was not able to try this idea, but I think the results I am getting from the DXB file format will work okay. Thanks again all for your help!
