Default Custom Button Image in the CUI Editor

Having the same problem in [vanilla] AutoCAD 2012 as well:

I have several custom toolbars with buttons and some of the images are not showing up in the CUI editor for me to edit/use/see.

I have the images on the server on a dedicated drive and the path is 3rd from the top on the files tab - SFSP (all of the C:\ProgramFiles\AutoCAD.... are below it) in options.

The odd thing is that I can see some of the custom images in the Button Editor on the right side of the CUI Editor, but not all, especially the newer ones I have been creating lately. I can create and save them to the network location, but cannot see them to edit nor assign them to a button within the editor.

Is there something I am forgetting to do ?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Instead of 'Support File Search Path' put the folder under 'Customization Files => Custom Icon Location'.

Sorry. I did not say it, but I do have that also done.

The Bitmap has to be just about the right size or AutoCAD will not use it. Much easier to create and edit them in AutoCAD. You can edit an AutoCAD one with Paint as long as you don't change the size to create new ones.

Hi Tom, thanks for the reply.
The images were created from within AutoCAD and usually created partially from and existing button.

Just checking out the new [Default] vBulletin forums, and came across this thread... FWIW -

With CUIx, each time you import a custom icon it is embedded within the CUIx (which is really a ZIP structure of other CUI files, etc.). There is no need for tiny icons either, as I typically use a single icon for both small and large, and is usually around 256x256, or 500x500 minimum resolution. Most of my newer ones are 1000x1000 pixels. AutoCAD (Civil 3D in my case) scales the .BMP automagically.

Tip - If using any sort of image editing application, add a new layer beneath your icon layer(s), and fill with the 253,253,253 equivalent (or the bottom left gray in the CUI Editor's Icon Editor dialog), which AutoCAD will translate as being 'transparent'.
