Display full file path in title bar

I hope this is the correct forum for this question. I did a forum search and could not find a similar problem. I am using AutoCAD 2000 and I need to have the full file path displayed at the top of the page along with the drawing title. I used to have this, and it has only disappeared after I renamed my profile under Tools>Options>Profile. The old profile name has been deleted. I've had this same problem in the past, but I can't remember how I fixed it.

I thought it might be in Folder Options in Windows Control Panel, but that doesn't seem to do the trick.

Never mind -- found it.


Express>Tools>Full Path Display ... type ON, hit ENTER.

...then again, that apparently is a customization that made by someone who worked here previously. One of our other designers who has a new computer does not have this option under Express>Tools.


I would be very interested to know how this is done so that I may set it up on my computer at home.

In 2005, and I believe 2004, it was taken out of the express tools and added to AutoCAD. You can find it in the options dialog box under the "Open and Save" tab. Look for "Display full path in title".

Thanks for the reply. However, this would be in 2000 and on this users computer under the pull-down menu under Express>Tools there are no other options after "List Entity X Data."

This is a part of the express tools. Maybe they need to be reinstalled on the new computer.

It works on mine, but his says "Unknown command." He is apparently somehow missing part of his Express Tools.

You can also copy the express tools from your machine to the new one. Check out the following TD.

If all else fails, go to www.manusoft.com. One of the components of Quikpik gives the full path display (long before adesk got around to it) and it may well be one of the completely free components.
