Exclamation Anyone come across this situation?

OK, I have one .dwg with 35 layouts in it. No xrefs, just a bunch of lines, arcs and dimensions set up on each paperspace through the viewports. I need to batch plot several different sheets to several different departments. For example, chassis dept only needs pages 1-5, cabinetry needs pages 1-12 and 14 and 27 and 30, finishes needs pages 4, 7, 9, 13, 24, 34 and 35....and so on and so on. I have about 40 different .dwg's I have to do the same way and I do not have time to go through each job and print specifically each one at a time.

Now can I set up sheet sets in my drawing template to just print out what that particular department needs? I am running AutoCAD 2012 and I'm PULLING MY HAIR OUT!!!!!!!!

    YOUR HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED

Sheet sets would be my advice, yes. It sounds like you do have layouts, which is the one thing necessary to do that. I'm going to move this to the SSM forum as it will be better served there.
    Thanks.

If you haven't used sheet sets before, there are a ton of resources out there...

Some of my favorites are from the AutoCAD Insider blog:

    Videos:

    Good video overview here:

sheets sets by thmselves, nope. a layout can only belong to one sheetset, so there could be no overlap.

What you _can_ do is save a dsd file, which is the list of sheets that willbe published. Then when you pyblish from SSM, select the dsd for that department. You'll still have to pick the sheets once for each DSD, but after that just load the dsd file.

I like your DSD suggestion, saves time doing the same sets over and over

But, even if the only thing he does is select by hand each one and then print them like that (as attached), it's still going to be more efficient to use SSM than to do it without.
