Rectangular column with rounded ends

How do I go about creating a rectangular column with the short ends being half circles?

I have managed to create the column family.
The cross section behaves as required, but I am struggling to get the height to work correctly

The height seems fixed as per the family extrusion length.
I do not see any additional parameters in the native column families.

How do I fix this?

I'm not sure what went wrong in your rfa-file, but it doesn't connect to the upper level.
I made new Metric Column Family and locked all sides to the corresponded referenceplanes. It connected without problems. See attachment. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the help... I also found it strange.
Eventually I used a workaround in the familiy, i.e. a 0 dimension between the extrusion top/base and the relevant reference plane
