Default Joining segmented lines into one line

I have imported a converted PDF that has left the hidden lines as individual segments. I have tried to join them and tried PE with Join and setting the Fuzz Factor to something greater than the gaps and then I would change the line type. It will not work, nothing will come together. Is there another command or routin that allows for this type of operation? Please advise. Thanks, Darren

If all the ENDpoints of all the lines have the same elevation (z value) it should work.

THanks for the tip. I flattened all lines and ran PE again with a large enough Fuzz Factor and they still didn't join. Please advise. Thanks

can you post an example for us to take a look at? sometimes it is easier to provide solutions after we have had a chance to experiment.

This is a typical PDF to dfx to dwg conversion result after I have cleaned it up. The hidden looking/Dashed lines are the ones I want to make into a single unit (and maintian their current look in an ideal world). For now just making them one single line where I can change the line style would be great.

ok, I tried the box in the upper left side of the drawing, started the polylinejoin command and set my fuzz factor to 6, it went through and joined all the segments to 1 closed polyline. I then ran overkill, just for the fun of it, and it erased 108 overlapping/duplicate objects, leaving me with a 4 sided polyline. There is currently a linetype established, but due to the drawing scale it is difficult to see, so I change the linetype scale of the object to 24 and the dashes looked fine.

sorry my command line isnt visible, it is difficult to capture videos with such large resolutions, so I generally try to capture just the pertinent area.

Thanks, I'll try the 6 instead of the 5. I cannot view your image due toour firewall as it blocks and storage type sites.

I just tried PE with a FF of 6 (") and noothing happened for me. What command did you use? FYI: ACAD 2012

Could you post screen shots of the diabox's for the commands you are using so I can emulate them.

Well I originally used the polyline join command (express tool), then I figured, maybe you dont have that tool, so I used MPEDIT, and got the same result. No screen shots to provide, there are no dialog boxes.

    This worked for me -
    PEdit
    Multiple
    [select]
    Join
    Join type
    Add (default is Extend)
    [0'-6" for Fuzz distance]

This was after I exploded everything but that may not be required.
(ltscale of 20 looks about right)

How do I change the default from extend to add?
