I have a hugh problem with my mouse jumping all over the screen. Before I go buy a new mouse does anyone else have this problem, and if so how did you fix it if you didn't just buy a new one?

Do a search on this forum on mice. You'll find an answer.

Check you have the most up to date driver for your mouse, this usually helps.

Open it up and remove the fur balls that are probably wrapped around the little wheels inside. I do this once or twice a year for the same reason.

I had one given to me... and ended up getting rid of it. You can download the latest version of Intellimouse... I think it's up to version 4.12 now. But I have grown to dislike Microsoft mice in general.

Optical. And frankly, if the world weren't such a dusty organic place, laser mice just wouldn't make sense. Any surface that provides low friction also seems to be unable to provide good tracking to the laser mice... shiny surfaces don't work well with the laser's tracking, I guess.

I have the same mouse. This is basic but have you changed the batteries?
