Default importing Sketch block from one part to another - possible?

Hi guys, I am new to inventor. This is the scenario:

I have a part file with a specific Sketch Block called "PROFILE_A".
Then I have another part file in which I started to model a part and in order to make a feature, would like to insert the sketch block "PROFILE_A" from the original file into the new. I have currently opened both parts next to each other an done a COPY AND PASTE. It works, but I wonder if there is a more elegant / efficient way to do this.

ideally, I would like to load PROFILE_A at some point, general a feature based on its, and at a later time maybe open the file that originally contained PROFILE_A, make a change to that sketch block and re-import it to the new part, or a set of parts using that block and impact several parts or assemblies.

While I realize that what I am asking may not be how Inventor "may" work, the workflow I m trying to achieve works in other applications (Revit for instance in the form of a profile family).

    Please help thank you !!

    Yes!

You can derive blocks in, so you could create a block library in one IPT file and derive them into other IPT files. When you change the block in your master file, all other will update.

You could take a performance hit here though, so it might be a good idea to use 'suppress link' on the derived instance so that it will only look for updates if you tell it to.

    Is that helpful?

Paul, thank you very much ! Yes very helpful indeed. I was able to "figure" out the derive command but did not know about the links / suppress links.

Right click a sketch block in the orginal file and pick copy, go to the new file and paste it into the sketched block area of the browser.

^ yeah.. I figured that works, but I was looking for a fancier way without having to open the file? Like think how its done in auotcad with the assets browser I a way. - and I think that is what Pauls solution does.
