Default Clean your drawings before you start or before you close

We have approx. 25 users who access AutoCAD with a mix of drafters, designers and EIT's many with very little CAD training. Subsequently we find many anomalies brought in by inexperienced users. The drawings need an audit or an annotative scale reset and other cleanup using the standards checker. We could do some of this automatically on startup for all drawings or as part of the save and close. I'm wondering whether there is a preference, or some experience on how to manage this.

We've just kinda built that into our close command.
zoom extents, set layer to 0, purge, purge, purge, audit, purge, audit, save, close.
But as stated above, education or a Louisville Slugger tends to fix the problem.

Agreed education is the long term key, but a company has to be willing to invest in education. Lunch and learns and e-mailed tips that get ignored mean I need to step it up. I don't have the time to check everybodies drawings to see if they are complying with good CAD practice. I suspect that fewer will notice if I setup a close routine as suggested. A startup routine may slow down the drawing opening process, but would allow the user to work in a cleaner environment.

I think that's why we put it on the close command.
If you're using good practices, it shouldn't take long to close.
Conversely, if you have a bad cad user, it might help them learn if it takes forever for them to save and close a drawing.
    Just a thought.
