Can't import Dimstyle through Design Center

Hi All,
I'm teaching a basic ACAD class and have the students define a Dimstyle in a drawing. Then open another drawing they have already started, and using Design Center, drag the dimstyle from one open drawing to another. One student reports it won't let him do that. He keeps seeing the circle-slash symbol when he drags the dimstyle icon over the open drawing.

I've never seen that. Anyone know what would cause that behavior? thanks!

I don't know why off the top of my head, sounds like it should work.
Any way to post a screen shot of the event?
And/or maybe the two drawings: the one containing the new dimstyle and the one they're trying to drag it into?

(just an fyi and you probably already know this.. you get the circle and slash until you leave the ADC page and actually drag it off into model space or paper space of the drawing)

I'm with Ted, I can't think of what might be stopping it myself.

Even if the drawing were read-only for some reason, he'd still be allowed to drop that in while the file was open.

I'm assuming the NO symbol like the attached even over the drawing area? (the only time I can see that is when hovering over a gui element like this palette.
