Default Link text in Autocad with an Excel spreadsheet

I am trying to use either 'Datalink' or 'Fields' to do the following:

In Autocad, place a piece of text on the drawing and have it go after an excel spreadsheet, and only pull the information from certain cells in excel.

There might be several rows that have the certain text to go after the other cells. If I place 'B-01' in Autocad I would like to have it pull all information
from all (3) rows that start with 'B-01'

    Example:
    A Column B Column C Column D Column
    B-01 5" PVC UG
    B-01 3" PVC UG
    B-01 4" PVC UG
    B-02 8" EMT Surface
    B-03 4" Cond Flush

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Does it have to be separate text entities or can it be in a table? If the latter, you can create a datalink to the xls and then use the datalink to populate a table.

I am trying to have the text in Autocad search for a certain cell (could be multiple cells with the same ID) in a excel spreadsheet and then grab certain cells in that row. See example below:

So if I have "B-01" in cad, I would want it to grap the first B-01 and then grab the info from Column B and Column C, but from all (3) rows. Hopefully this makes sense.

    Example:
    A Column B Column C Column D Column
    B-01 5" PVC UG
    B-01 3" PVC UG
    B-01 4" PVC UG
    B-02 8" EMT Surface
    B-03 4" Cond Flush

Are you trying to use Excel to create your schedules for you?
There's a nifty little program called spanner that plays rather nice with an excel file. Imports at an updatable block.
    Just a thought.

Having similar problem trying to paste sections of an Excel Worksheet then output drawing as an Adobe PDF
the following messages comes from up version 2004

    PDFX ISO="15930-1:2001" COMPLIANT="false">

    PDF/X Compliance Report

    1. Color

[Violation] RGB colorspace was found on the following pages:
    Page 1, Occurrences: 18

Violations: The total found in this section was 18.

    2. Summary

Warnings: The total found in this document was 0.
Violations: The total found in this document was 18.
The number of color problems found in this document was 18.

This document does not pass PDF/X-1a compliance checks.

    </PDFX>

%%[ Warning: Did not pass PDF/X compliance tests. No PDF file produced.

Any suggestions to create the PDF from Auto Cad version 2004 Thanks

Just a thought, but wouldn't the easy fix be to print as a dwf or a plt and then convert in Adobe?

So simply print a plot file then open in Adobe?
Adobe could not open the plt.file

If you know that there are 18 objects on page 1 that are in an unacceptable colour, why not try identifying them and changing their colour.
Could it be that easy? Probably not.
