Question Having a problem Rotating and Sliding parts together

Hey, I am having an issue with inventor. I am trying to make my item slide on a rod, and rotate on it without it conflicting with other parts.

Problem is, that under the rotating part, there is a bump. Along with grooves that the bump fits with.
So I want to have the rotating item slide over the bump, and snap into the grooves when it fits.

    What should I do?

I'm not completely sure if i understand your question but i gave it a try. See the attached assembly and Play Drive constraint Angle:1 to see the magenta cone follow a surface. Otherwise suppres Angle:1 constrain and rotate the Pin.
I used the Transitional constrain to let the pint follow a contour with the use of some help geometry.
