    Angry Dimension in Section View

I am cutting a section perpendicular to a wall. When I try to dimension in a section view I get the no-no symbol. The wall is angled, not curved but the section is carefully perpendicular (making sure it is parallel to an adjacent gridline that is 90 degrees exactly perpendicular to the wall making the section perpendiculat to the wall). WHY? WHY!! I don't want to use detail lines to dimension. The size will change and I don't want to go back and tweak dimension lines. Seriously, there has to be a better way?

ok, so the gridline and therefore "parallel wall" was out .001 degrees. I essentially have to realign the model for that.

Well that's one way to find out if your wall is parallel to the grid line.
