Default Revit MEP Duct Accessory Scheduling

Hi, This is my first time posting. Not sure if this have been asked before.

I am trying to create a schedule to show the duct accessory (fire damper etc.) to show the space name/rooom name. Is this possible? I know that you can with Mechanical Equipment schedule. Is there a work around? If so, how?

    Thanks in advance.

Workaround: Edit the Damper Family and change it to Mechanical Equipment. THat is the only way that I see to accomplish listing the Space info as well.

    Hey Dennis,

Yeah, I thought about that too. But then, this will probably create a lot issue later on, plus I will lose the schedule fields in duct accessory that I need. I have been googling on this for a bit now and cant seem to find a suitable resolution for this. Weird how this is not by default?

Another possible way to accomplish something that might work is to create a Space Schedule and then make Duct Accessories as an Embedded Schedule. One of the issues is that it will take a little work to exclude the "blank" Spaces from the Schedule (those without any Duct Accessories). If the (very crude) image below depicts a possible solution, then I'll elaborate on how to build it.

Another possibility (which is dependent on the Parameters being used in the schedule) is to create and embed a Shared Mechanical Equipment Family (contains no model Elements) which can be scheduled for Space Name/Number. This method can be explained in more detail if it may be useful.

yes, CADastrophe, much better solution. I forgot all about embedded schedules.

    Hi CADastrophe,

It's a relief that there is a workaround for this, I will look into the embedded method and will share the result later on.

If you have any study material to share on this topic, it will be very helpful. Or if you like to further elaborate on this

Before going into detail, could you post an example image of your schedule and/or list the Parameters that will be included in the Schedule? This information will allow me to determine what method is best, or if it's even possible...

I just created one while doing some googling.

I created a Space schedule first to get the parameter from space (name and number). Then, I embedded a duct accessory schedule into the space schedule to get the (Mark, Size, Count, and System info etc.) Detail steps are in the photo. So far it is working, and if you can confirm that this is correct way or have any other suggestions

Based on the Parameters you are using for the Duct Accessories, the embedded Mech Equip family method wouldn't really work.

Looks like you've got a good handle on the embedded schedule, though! My only [minor] suggestion would be to add a blank line between the Spaces for clarity: Go to Sorting/Grouping and check "Blank line" for Space Number.
