Default Revit MEP Duct Accessory Scheduling

Hi, This is my first time posting. Not sure if this have been asked before.

I am trying to create a schedule to show the duct accessory (fire damper etc.) to show the space name/rooom name. Is this possible? I know that you can with Mechanical Equipment schedule. Is there a work around? If so, how?

    Thanks in advance.

Workaround: Edit the Damper Family and change it to Mechanical Equipment. THat is the only way that I see to accomplish listing the Space info as well.

    Hey Dennis,

Yeah, I thought about that too. But then, this will probably create a lot issue later on, plus I will lose the schedule fields in duct accessory that I need. I have been googling on this for a bit now and cant seem to find a suitable resolution for this. Weird how this is not by default?

Another possible way to accomplish something that might work is to create a Space Schedule and then make Duct Accessories as an Embedded Schedule. One of the issues is that it will take a little work to exclude the "blank" Spaces from the Schedule (those without any Duct Accessories). If the (very crude) image below depicts a possible solution, then I'll elaborate on how to build it.

    CADastrophe,
how did you manage to exclude the spaces without Duct Accessories?

There's no great way to do it that I found, but the way that I did it in my experimenting was to create a Yes/No Project Instance Parameter "Exclude from DA Schedule" and add it to Spaces. Then I created a Filter in the Schedule "Not Equal to YES", which created a checkbox next to each Space in the schedule. Checking the box causes the Space to vanish from the schedule. More manual labor...

    Hi All,
I was surprised to realize that you cannot include this info within a Schedule - I'm coming from the Architecture side where most custom families can have a room/space selection. Another workaround, depending upon the data you need, would be to use a Multi-Category schedule and filter on Category=Duct Accessories. See here for more detail: http://screencast.com/t/ACk9YsqxHGVY

Of course the downside of using Multi-Category is that you may not have access to all the parameters you need, just thought I'd throw it out there.

That's the solution I was looking for ! I forgot about mulitcatigory schedules. This is way far better than embedded schedules. Thanks a alot !

Another possibility (which is dependent on the Parameters being used in the schedule) is to create and embed a Shared Mechanical Equipment Family (contains no model Elements) which can be scheduled for Space Name/Number. This method can be explained in more detail if it may be useful.
