Default Wireframe display mode "stuck" after clash detection

So I am using Manage 2013 (that prefix wasn't available on the drop down) and I set up some clash tests, ran them and went to the results tab. I have the display settings to dim other, transparent dimming and auto zoom. No problems there. However, when i leave the results tab my model is no longer dimmed, but still displays as wireframe. I check the rendering options and it still shows that i am in shaded mode. I've changed it to wire frame or hidden and then back to shaded. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I just got a new video card put into my machine so I dont know if thats the issue or not.

It makes it really difficult to see what is going on in the stuck wireframe mode. I went to do a coordination meeting today and pretty much fell on my face with the clash detection since once leaving the results tab i couldnt see anything clearly.

    Any help/ideas would be great.

    thanks

I did find a work around by going to global options, clash detective and unchecking the box for wire frame mode for transparent dimming. I feel it should work the other way too though.

This has been happening to me recently and either I have to do Reset All... Appearances or do what you did in the Global Options. I haven't noticed if this is an issue in 2014 yet.

Before you leave the clash detective, click on the Select or Rules tab, then see what happens..

The model should be in 'normal' mode then.

I've had to do that since I started using NW a while ago.. It's just a bug you learn to live with..
Give a man AutoCad, and he'll draw you a floor plan.
Give a man Revit and he'll build you a house.
Give Cadmama a couple of drinks and she'll have everyone singing Rockytop!

I have been doing that. It does not work. I guess that is what I meant about leaving the results tab. I've been working with NW Manage for years and after looking at the collision in the results tab, I have always hit the Select tab to get my color model back.

Navis is going back to the non grayed out model display but sticking with the wire frame look. It isnt the actual wire frame display mode you can change to in the rendering tab either, because i can select that and see a difference.

This is an error with the Saved Viewpoints which keeps the "Override Material" box checked which preserves the wire-frame as well as the highlighted objects. The work around that I found was to Export all of your viewpoints: Right click on Saved Viewpoints > Export Viewpoints ... Then clear all of the viewpoints and Import them from the same Right click window > Import Viewpoints ... This check box is not stored in the XML file so it should reset to unchecked.

There was some weird error when Editing the viewpoint that did not allow you to uncheck the Override Material box.

This situation should only occur when generating the viewpoint from the Clash Detective.

Go to home > Project tab > Reset All... > Appearances

    That should do it!

    That does not do it.

That does however undo any appearance modifications made to the model. Any color change or transparency override gets reset. NOT quite the solution I was looking for.

Unpinning my saved viewpoints panel, or autohiding the clash detective panel seems to fix it, sometimes.

I wasn't generating or saving views per se. I was just navigating the model from the results tab of clash detective. Then switched to the Select tab to get normal model display back like i have been doing for years. No go though.

Yeah I experienced that also...fortunately I have my appended models set-up through the appearance profiler so changing the appearance of the appended models was easy. I should have mentioned that...Hope I didn't cause you a bunch of extra work!
