Does anyone know how to create roman numerals in dtext or mtext in Autocad 2006?
I mean the numbers I, II, III, IV, V, etc. They usually have a horizontal bar on top and bottom.
Those bars are called "serifs". Just change your font to one that includes them. "Sans" means "without", therefore, a "sans-serif" font like Arial doesn't have them. Times New Roman is a good one to use, as it comes with Windows, everybody has it. The text below has TNR applied to it.
I, II, III, IV, V
Also, the context may help. It isn't absolutely necessary to have serifs. A Roman numeral is usually recognizable as such, e.g. an outline or a building code section.

Ed, thanks for the tip. That was what I was looking for.
Thank you.
Also, if you want to make a list with them, try typing this first couple of them in word and then copy and paste it into the mtext windows, you will find that AutoCAD will now recognise this as one of it's lists and add numbers accordingly. (Not sure about Roman Numerals, but works with all sort of other things.
I have not been able to get LT 2012 to recognize lowercase Roman numerals as parts of a list. It thinks they are lowercase letters.
Tried in AutoCAD 2012 (full) with the same result; you can keep the formatting / spacing if you manually correct each line with backspace, but no auto-numbering in roman numeral style seems possible, and no automatic re-numbering when inserting new lines. (So basically, none of the useful list functionality.) Sorry, tried.
