Changing Interior Elevation Line Styles

Greetings!

The line style settings for "view previous" are just what I want - door leaf swings are dashed, line weights pop, just generally a "yes!" kind of visual. HOWEVER. The project I am working on is in 3 phases. Elevations I need are from phase 2. So in order to make it *look* like I want, I've had to set it to phase 3, view previous. The problem that has arisen is that now my elevation markers are in the sheets for phase 3, when I really want them displayed in phase 2.
So my question is... do I:
1) Draw fake elevation markers in Phase 2 (ew. sounds like a bad idea)
2) Change the line styles for "view previous and new" settings (How would I even do this? Haven't found a thread that gives me any useful info yet)
3) Other ideas - help me, AUGI members... you're my only hope.

You should leave your elevations in phase 2 and use the phase filter of "Show Previous + New" which will make existing halftone and phase 2 as new construction. If you need to override the phase filter settings it's under Manage->Phases. There are 3 tabs at the top of that dialog box. The first one is where you can add/remove phases. the second one "Phase Filters" tells Revit how you want each phase filter to display. The third tab, "Graphic Overrides", tells Revit what line weights and colors to use in the phase filters, i.e., black dashed lines for demolished elements.

Changing those settings are global so if you plans already look the way you want this might not be the way to go. Could you provide a screencapture of what you're looking for versus what you're getting?

Hi, Anthony. Thanks for responding!
I'm attaching 2 images. In them you can see that the storage carts and door swing are dashed in 'Phase 3, show previous' but all lines are solid in 'Phase 2, show previous and new.' I think it's pretty standard for equipment and furniture to be dashed, so I'm not sure why Revit is seemingly incapable of the norm in something so very normal. I could experiment with the phase settings, but I can't do that if it will change the way *everything* looks, which looks to be the case. There's not a way to just change elevation line styles? Boohiss. Thanks again for your help -- if you have any tricks at all, that would be spectacular.

Make a view template from the view that looks the way you want and apply it to the new view.

Revit is not "incapable of something so normal".
You simply need to learn more about Visibility, View Templates and Filters
You can make any Revit View look like pretty much anything you want it to, but it's not going to look like your old drawings right out of the box. You have to do some work to customize it to your graphic standards.
Phases can complicate things, as they tend to override other settings.

This is definitely a phase filter issue. "Show Previous+New" must have "New" set to "Overridden" instead of "By Category", or it's the otherway around. Check the "Phase Filters" tab under the "Phases" button on the manage tab. Here's what mine are set to, notice there isn't a "Show Previous" option because that's the same as showing Previous+New but with a different phase.

Aha! The links y'all have included (as well as the screencap) seem to be what I need to figure it out. Now that I actually know the name of the problem I'm having, it sure makes it a lot easier to fix.
