Block geometry disappearing

OK, I have a couple of users with a bizarre problem. We're using AutoCAD 2011 with a custom add-on package, Shipworks. Lets us put in shipbuilding specific geometry, and the like. The problem we're having is that some blocks on drawings are now showing up empty. The block is still there, it's not in the purge list, the drawing thinks it's being used. When you use block editor, there is no longer any geometry in the block. The drawings MAY have been opened in AutoCAD Mechanical at some point (sorry, can't convince them that if they don't need MEchanical, don't open it!). Has anyone ever seen anything like this going on?

Is the block empty or just scaled / moved or turned off?

In the properties flyout => quick select => Entire drawing => Object type: block => properties: Block Name => "OK".

Type bedit and see if there is any linework in the block editor. Also the properties dialogue should show you any scaling issues.

Have you made any changes to your AutoCAD configuration or upgraded either CAD or Shipworks? Trying to figure out what precipitated this change.

do these blocks exist anywhere else outside of the problem drawings? Have you tried re-inserting them from a file outside of the drawing? Can you see the block and its geometry outside of the block editor in the drawing? Do you want the block in there at all? If you do not- have you tried wblocking out the drawing to get rid of any extra garbage that may be clinging to your drawing?
